Why Wishes Matter

When a family in your community hears the devastating news that their child has been diagnosed with a critical illness, life changes forever. Hospital stays, doctor’s visits and treatments become their new normal.

Make-A-Wish® invites Wish Kids into a world of possibilities — where the exciting anticipation of a wish-come-true helps them believe in better days ahead. A wish replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. Now more than ever, this hope is essential. Make-A-Wish is committed to ensuring that no child waits, even one unnecessary day, to experience the hope and joy that a wish brings.

Meet Harrison Springs

Harrison is a 14 year old boy who enjoys two things – gaming and LEGOs. While battling cancer, Harrison found comfort in being able to continue to play video games with his friends and his brother, and keeping busy building LEGOs. When Harrison found out he’d be receiving a wish, he had a ton of ideas. Ultimately, there was one wish that would allow him to enhance both of his favorite hobbies – a virtual shopping spree! Harrison worked really hard to fine-tune his wish list. On the gaming side, he was able to get a new desk, two monitors, and a ton of really cool accessories. He was also able to get the COOLEST sets of LEGOs, including replicas of Batman’s Batmobile, London’s Big Ben, and Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon! His Mom joked that his bedroom is going to become a LEGO museum! And with the room he had leftover, Harrison added on a Roomba!
